The area of Kastraki
Kastraki is a summer village of southwestern Naxos. It is located just south of Mikri Vigla, between the homonymous beach and Glyfada beach.
Both the port of Naxos (Chora) and the airport are located 14 km (about 20 min) respectively 10 km away from the Kastraki village.
The Beach
Kastraki Beach is one of the largest and most beautiful beaches of Naxos. It is located in a relatively small bay, next to the Mikri Vigla Peninsula. The environment in Kastraki is like a paradise, as the whitewashed sand and green-blue waters compose an image of unique beauty that is complemented by cedar trees on the outskirts of the coast, providing a precious natural shade.
For the most part, the beach is organized with sun beds and umbrellas. Although during summer time the beach gathers a lot of people, it cannot be crowded because of its large area where there are many different access points along the beach.
If you want to enjoy your meal you will find several taverns in the surrounding area overlooking the beach and the open sea.
